Cooking Is How We Teach — At Any Age
At Artisanal Academy, we believe the kitchen is one of the best classrooms there is. Every recipe becomes a lesson — in science, culture, and self-reliance. Our students don't just learn to cook; they learn where food comes from, why it matters, and how to nourish themselves and the people they love.
Founded by a Bauman-trained holistic chefs, Artisanal Academy grew out of a simple belief: understanding food changes the way you eat, cook, and live — whether you're 6 or 60. That's why our programs span from early childhood all the way through adult culinary classes.

Deborah Nagai-Cromer
Founder, Holistic Chef
Deborah Nagai-Cromer is a Bauman-trained holistic chef and the founder of Artisanal Academy. She built this program alongside her niece with a shared vision: to teach the way food actually works — from seed to plate. Deborah brings a background in whole-foods cooking, therapeutic meal planning, and hands-on culinary education to every class, camp, and event she leads. Her long-term dream is to run a working farm where students learn to grow, harvest, and cook their own food — a vision already growing in her own container gardens and backyard flock.
Bailey Morita
Founder, Holistic Chef
Bailey Morita is a Bauman-trained holistic chef with a deep background in the science of how food heals the body. Passionate about sharing that knowledge with others, Bailey is a true foodie at heart — someone who believes restriction should never mean giving up flavor. Living with her own dietary restrictions, she's turned that challenge into her specialty, reimagining beloved dishes so they fit within dietary boundaries without sacrificing taste or joy.
